Margaret A. Brickel, 94,<\/strong> died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Hickory Creek at Hicksville, Hicksville, Ohio.<\/p>\n

She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on January 21, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Erma (Connett) Reinhold.<\/p>\n

Margaret was a 1939 graduate of Central High School in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n

In 1940, she was united in marriage with James Brickel and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1994.<\/p>\n

Margaret worked at Dana Weatherhead in Antwerp, General Electric in Ft Wayne and Crook Miller Handle Factory in Hicksville.<\/p>\n

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hicksville. She was past president and secretary of the Hicksville Eagles Auxiliary, and secretary of the bowling leagues. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and TOPS Club. She loved poodles.<\/p>\n

Surviving Margaret are two sons-Richard (Dee) Brickel of Bryan, Ohio, David (Diane) Brickel of Hicksville; stepdaughter Patricia Hart Gumbert of New Haven, Indiana; four grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by a stepson-Robert Brickel, three sisters and a brother.<\/p>\n

Funeral service for Margaret will be Friday at 10:00 at Grace United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.<\/p>\n

Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Defiance County Humane Society, Hickory Creek at Hicksville or Grace United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n
