Stay off the roads so they can be cleared.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The continuation of the Level 3 snow emergency was questioned by some people wondering if it was still necessary to continue this. The answer is wholeheartedly, YES.<\/p>\n

Do not assume because your road is clear the next road will be fine. Even the ODOT and INDOT plows are having problems due to the high winds and extremely cold temperatures, not to mention the 12-14 inches of snow that fell on Sunday. The last time we have seen temperatures drop to the level was back in 1985. The windchills are some of the coldest on record.<\/p>\n

If you would get stuck in the cold, and the chances are high, you could get painful frostbite in minutes and possibly death shortly thereafter, especially out in the country with the flat farm grounds. The north and south highways are struggling to be kept clear and many are just one lane with the high winds continuing. This doesn’t include the back roads, which are more likely to be severe.<\/p>\n
