Monday morning and my mind is blank. I usually have a story floating around in my head but not today. As I contemplate, life has been good, we went to church yesterday and the weather has been gorgeous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been listening to David Gibbs, president of the Christian Lawyers Association. His organization has had many victories including bringing religion back into the schools. He has traveled all over the world litigating lawsuits against churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been thinking about his message on joy. It’s not exactly the same as happiness. Christians are commanded to have joy. Happiness is a roller coaster but joy is there at all times no matter what the circumstances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s hard for me to explain, so I check with Mrs Google. “Joy is dependent on who Jesus is than rather on who we are or what is happening around us.” “It’s eternal and remains no matter what you go through.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have seen good Christian people struggle. The word Joy, enjoy, is addressed in the Bible hundreds of times. Looking at one verse Romans 12:12, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in affliction, be persistent in prayer.” David Gibbs is what I would call a wealthy man. His grandfather started butchering cattle and selling the meat. He built an empire slaughtering thousands of cattle a day, and shipping the meat all over the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

David’s grandfather was a righteous man, treating people honestly  in everything he did. When David was eight years old his mother contacted polio and was in the hospital a year and a half, and when she came home spent the rest of her life in a wheelchair unable to do the simplest tasks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

David’s mother began asking God for something that she could do for Him. A young minister was starting a new church, and she told him she had always wanted to have a Sunday School. She had David take her to a bus company and asked for a bus to bring in kids on Sunday morning. Of course the owner declined and she told him, “God’s going to be unhappy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 1 time she had 20 buses picking up 5,000 kids each Sunday. Many of the bus drivers were saved, and many of her kids became missionaries. I personally do not have a corner on the market. I struggle with trying to live a Christian Life everyday and I do pray that God would use me in some way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had thought about tutoring students in math and science, but my strength is quite limited. I think of a practical advice, plant some tulips this fall. Nearly anytime before frost. 2 ft diameter circle, bulbs 6 inches apart. A bit of bone meal or fertilizer mixed in the ground. Really helps one get through the winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
