Zach Gorrell, a Kiwanis member and the new President\/CEO of Gorrell Brothers, was the featured speaker at this week’s Kiwanis meeting as part of the Chamber Spotlight series. He was introduced by fellow Kiwanis member Jill Strahley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fifth-generation member of the Gorrell family, Zach recently assumed ownership of Gorrell Brothers from his grandfather, Larry Gorrell. During his presentation, he shared the company’s rich history and its evolution over more than a century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1920 by three Gorrell brothers in Angola, Indiana, the business originally focused on selling horses. In the 1950s, Gorrell Brothers relocated to Ohio, where the company continued to expand its services and build its reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Gorrell Brothers specializes in residential, farmland, and multi-parcel auctions as well as providing many other services. Zach noted that online auctions have become an increasingly important part of the business, while onsite auctions have also experienced a resurgence in popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company has also recently relocated its offices from its longtime Williams Street  location in Paulding to the upper floor of the building at 112 N. Water St., positioning the business for its next chapter while continuing a family legacy that spans five generations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
