Scott Equity Exchange Cooperative is moving forward with a major expansion aimed at increasing grain storage and improving service for local producers. Planning for the project began in the winter of 2024, when discussions first emerged about adding a new grain bin to the cooperative\u2019s facilities. Construction on the initiative officially started in mid-summer 2025, with an initial target for completion set for late fall. Despite weather-related delays, crews have continued working through Ohio\u2019s challenging winter conditions in an effort to meet project deadlines. Construction of the bin is projected to be finished in time to coincide with the wheat harvest season in June and July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion includes a new dump pit, grain leg, and a Brock grain bin capable of holding more than 480,000 bushels of grain. With the addition of the new infrastructure, the cooperative\u2019s total grain storage capacity will exceed 3.4 million bushels, marking a significant increase for the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaders at Scott Equity Exchange Cooperative say the project is a long-term investment in the region\u2019s agricultural economy. The expanded capacity is expected to improve efficiency during peak harvest seasons and provide greater flexibility for area farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Board members and employees expressed enthusiasm about the project\u2019s progress and say they look forward to welcoming new customers while continuing to support existing producers. The cooperative anticipates the upgraded facility will play a key role in what they hope will be a productive upcoming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
