**Psalms 91:1-2 (NKJV)**:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust.'”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this passage, the psalmist begins by highlighting the importance of a close relationship with God. The phrase “he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High” suggests a deep and personal communion with God, a place of safety and intimacy. This \u201csecret place\u201d can be understood as a state of spiritual connection, where one can find solace amid life’s tumultuous challenges, akin to entering into His rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do you find or get your rest? Over the years, I have counseled and met many people who complain that they can’t rest or sleep, usually due to excessive worry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to dwell in the secret place, you must surrender to the love of God and trust in his ability to protect and shield you from harm and danger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s easy to say \u201cI trust you\u201d. But the proof is in the pudding. Where do you run to when trouble comes? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The term “shadow of the Almighty” conveys a sense of protection and refuge, akin to how a shadow offers relief from the sun. It symbolizes the safety and comfort one experiences when God envelops them in His care. This imagery reassures us that those who seek and trust God earnestly will find shelter in His might and presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In verse 2, the psalmist shows personal trust in God, calling Him both “my refuge” and “my fortress.” A refuge offers a safe place to escape, while a fortress indicates strength and protection from trouble. By saying, “In Him I will trust,” the psalmist expresses faith in God’s care and defense. This trust is more than just a notion; it comes from a heart that has seen God’s faithfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, these verses invite us to cultivate a relationship with God, encouraging us to find our safety, strength, and security in Him amidst life’s uncertainties. They remind us that through faith and commitment to God, we can experience His peace and protection in all circumstances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
