This new equipment provides officers with an additional, versatile less-lethal option designed to safely de-escalate volatile situations and ensure compliance while minimizing the risk of serious injury.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The PepperBall system utilizes a compressed-air launcher to fire projectiles filled with PAVA (a synthetic pepper irritant) powder, similar to what is used in traditional pepper spray.
