Wayne Trace used a strong third quarter to pull away from Hicksville for a 49\u201330 girls basketball victory on Wednesday night, January 15, at The Palace at Wayne Trace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Raiders edged Hicksville 11\u201310 after the opening quarter and extended the lead to 25\u201316 by halftime following a solid second-quarter effort. Wayne Trace then took control coming out of the break, outscoring the Aces 20\u20134 in the third quarter to build a commanding advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hicksville showed resilience in the fourth quarter, matching Wayne Trace with 10 points, but the Raiders\u2019 earlier surge proved too much to overcome as they closed out the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Careen Winans led Wayne Trace with 17 points, including four three-pointers, while Lexi Moore added 14 points and was active on the glass. Caroline Winans contributed 12 points, giving the Raiders three players in double figures as Wayne Trace improved to 11\u20133 overall and 2\u20132 in the Green Meadows Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hicksville was led by Kennedy Adams and Devony Mull, who each scored 10 points. Jocelyn Baldwin added six points for the Aces, who fell to 8\u20137 overall and 1\u20133 in GMC play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
