This holiday season, local McDonald\u2019s Owner\/Operators brought smiles, comfort and holiday cheer to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 16, McDonald\u2019s Owner\/Operators visited families staying at the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Regional Medical Center, delivering holiday-themed socks and a festive assortment of McDonald\u2019s treats. Local McDonald\u2019s Owner\/Operator Jim Wong and his team provided cookies, pies and apple slices, and families were also surprised by a special visit from Santa Claus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit was designed to create a lighthearted moment for families who are away from home while their children receive medical care \u2014 a reminder that even during the busiest season, small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit coincided with the launch of Round Up for RMHC in the McDonald\u2019s app. In-store, in the drive-thru, or through the McDonald\u2019s mobile app, customers are invited to round up their total to the nearest dollar, with the extra change donated directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Nationally, RMHC estimates that $59.6 million was raised in 2024 through the Round Up initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re grateful for the continued support from McDonald\u2019s Owner\/Operators, especially during the holidays,\u201d said Jenifer Veatch, CEO of RMHC of Northeast Indiana.  \u201cTheir visits bring comfort, smiles, and a sense of togetherness to families who are going through an incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt McDonald\u2019s, we believe the holidays are about showing up for our communities,\u201d added Jon Lafontant, a local McDonald\u2019s Owner\/Operator and member of the RMHC of Northeast Indiana Board of Trustees. \u201cFamilies at the Ronald McDonald House are dealing with so much, and we\u2019re honored to share a little joy to help brighten their day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is part of McDonald\u2019s ongoing commitment to supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provides families a place to stay and resources to lean on while their children receive care.
