David K. Thomas, 59,<\/strong> passed away on Sunday, November 10 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH after a brief illness. At the time of his death he was a UDRI engineer at Dayton University and served in the applied combustion and energy group, Energy Technologies and Material Division. He was a 1976 Dayton University chemical engineering graduate with a Bachelor\u2019s degree . He obtained a Master\u2019s degree and was pursuing a doctoral degree in materials engineering. He and his family had previously lived in Charleston WV and Houston TX.<\/p>\n

David was born September 13, 1954 to Mabel (Essex) and Isaac R. Thomas. He attended Paulding Schools and graduated in 1972. He was married to Cathy (Milstead) Thomas, who survives, and children, Kirk and Margaret all, of Dayton. He is also survived by a sister, Alice Lawson; brothers, William I. (Nylice) Thomas, Joseph L. Thomas, all of Paulding, and Stephen C. Thomas, Mooresville, IN . He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard L. Thomas.<\/p>\n

Memorial services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Chapel on the University of Dayton campus. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at 107 Park Drive, Dayton OH 45410.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
