The property, built in 1875 and listed on the Register of Historic Places, is owned by the Hicksville Historical Society. The refinishing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">&nbsp;of the exterior is just one of the projects the group has planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ably led by board members,Tom Battershell and Lucas Brown, with additional support from Eric Crall and Roger Gatchell, the exterior was scraped, covered with primer and two coats of paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Additional help came from the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2022 James Speiser, who loaned painting equipment plus gave priceless advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2022 Arin Wann, who provided the crew with lunch and made a generous donation to the society for project expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2022 Jaden Yoder and Kenny Blair for use of their lifts and transporting of same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2022 John Battershell for paint at a discounted price, sander, and discs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"318\" height=\"424\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/St.-Paul-Hicksville-AFTER.jpg?resize=318%2C424&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49097\" style=\"width:250px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">AFTER<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Also &#8211; Joe Larry for supplying gloves, and neighbor Bob Miller for the use of his water hookup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Now that the painting is complete, additional tasks such as temporarily stabilizing the front circular window and some chimney repair will be done. In the meantime, the Historical Society will continue to seek funding for the complete restoration of the stained glass windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">St. Paul\u2019s is open for public viewing the first Wednesday of each month from 3 to 5 or by appointment. View the Gothic architecture and listen to the original pump organ. St. Paul\u2019s is also available for use for a number of activities\/events.
