The Village of Payne will honor the late Michael M. Brigner as the 2025 Rock the Block recipient during the community celebration on Saturday, September 13. <\/strong>Brigner, who passed away on November 13, 2024, at age 64, was remembered as a man devoted to \u201cfamily, trucking, and community,\u201d according to Payne Chamber of Commerce President Chad Benschneider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lifelong resident, Brigner co-owned Brigner Trucking and shared 45 years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Deb. Together they raised their family and built countless memories. He served two terms as Payne\u2019s mayor, from 1992\u20131995 and 2000\u20132003, and was active with the Payne American Legion and Friends of the Payne Legion .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for his humor, generosity, and dedication, Brigner was also a passionate fan of Ohio State, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed golf, softball, and vacations with family. The Rock the Block Committee described him as a friend, servant, teammate, and loyal community member whose smile and presence touched many lives .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
