The Defiance County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Good Samaritan School have received a $5,000 grant from the Defiance Area Foundation (DAF) as part of the foundation\u2019s 2025 spring grant cycle. The funding comes from both the DAF Community Fund and the Hanna Family Memorial Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grant will be used to implement a range of important updates aimed at improving the school\u2019s facilities and enhancing educational programming. A new public address system will strengthen school-wide communication, particularly in emergency situations. Additional security cameras will increase safety for students, staff, and visitors. The grant will also fund updated appliances\u2014including two stoves, a washer, and a dryer\u2014which will be used as part of the school\u2019s life skills curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese updates not only promote safety, but also support our students\u2019 independence and real-world learning,\u201d said Superintendent Heidi Hull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
