The Huber Opera Lane Performers are producing a hilarious musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, at the Huber Opera House in Hicksville, Ohio, with show dates of March 28, 29 & 30. On Friday and Saturday nights the option of a Dinner Theater is available with catering provided by Grant\u2019s starting at 6:00 and show at 7:00. On Sunday a 2:00 Show Only Matinee will round out the weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the houselights down, a man in a chair (played by Peter Greer) appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers (Jordan Hammersmith, Summer Schooley) on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man (Ryan Hunt, Jr.), a desperate theatre producer (Dan Lehman), a not-so-bright hostess (Kathy Kennedy), a butler (Hal Osmun), two gangsters (James Greer, Jake Evans) posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan (AJ Lorenzini), an intoxicated chaperone (Stephanie Longbrake), a hopeful starlet (Katie Frame), and an aviatrix (Brooke Schooley) and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Golden Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another by the Ensemble (including Sydney Fogt, Leah Garmater, Joey Greer, Nichole Robinson, Leah Thomas, and Jordys Vance).
