In the Oakwood community was recently blessed by major upgrade at the Oakwood Community Park by Avery Cooper, son of Heather Cooper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avery has been working all summer on procuring donations to rebuild the playground set at the park by the railroad tracks in Oakwood. He is part of Boy Scout Troop 19 and making this his Eagle Scout project took the entire summer and nearly 150 hours of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avery is a freshman at Paulding high School and his favorite subject is science. His favorite thing about school happens to be football. His mom is certainly proud of him for all the work that he has put into this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Area children were excited to play on the new playground that Avery made for the community of Oakwood for his Eagle Scout project.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, the Oakwood Community Park was blessed to have the Latter-Day Saints come in and paint some of the tables and in the pavilion to help beautify the location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also coming soon, Boy Scout Troop 19 intends to paint the food stand pavilion along with all of the tables located outside just in time for the Labor Day festivities of the Oakwood Homecoming!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the donations that purchased the Weaver playground equipment set were from the community and friends of the Oakwood Park. The concrete pad was installed by Bradford Excavating, and the gravel was put in by Jason Dangler Excavating. Troy Weller of Auglaize Canoe and Kayak helped remove the old equipment along with Avery and they have since set it up at the Auglaize Canoe & Kayak location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire community of Oakwood came together to make this all happen, and it is very much appreciated, especially by the kids who are able to start playing immediately, following the ribbon-cutting!
