Nolan Richard Taylor and Joy Isabell Sanderson were wed May 29, 1948.  The two were Grover Hill high school sweethearts.  One evening after taking in a free movie show in Grover Hill, Richard was taking Joy home in his 1941 Black Ford.  It was in the car that evening that he asked Joy to marry him.  Of course, she said yes!  Who wouldn\u2019t want to marry the most \u201cgood lookin\u2019 fellow.\u201d  According to Joy, Richard was \u201cso very kind, considerate, and caring.\u201d  Besides, he would bring Joy a BABY RUTH BAR to school, when he\u2019d get off working at the diner during the lunch hour.  Richard thought that Joy was the most \u201cbeautiful, kind and generous girl.\u201d  The couple lived in the Grover Hill area until 1988.  Now up to that point Richard was a farmer, construction worker, wood worker, school bus driver, and school board member for 12 years.  Joy enjoyed being a homemaker and seamstress.  Their only child, daughter, Tonya Joy Taylor came into the world on May 3, 1955.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1988, the family moved to Florida.  Joy worked for Eckerd Drug Store and Richard was a tour bus driver.  While in Florida they took up square dancing, which they did for 10 years.  In 1995, it was time to say goodbye to Florida and move back to Ohio.  The couple then decided to build their own home with their own hands and so they did.  In 1995 they settled in Van Wert, Ohio, where they live to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard and Joy\u2019s 75 years are a testament to their love and devotion for one another and to the hope that they have in Christ Jesus.  All their nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews have reason to celebrate this wonderful couple.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
