Members of Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative recently donated $11,692 to 7 local charities and community projects through the cooperative\u2019s Operation Round Up program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 80% of PPEC members round up their electric bill and donate those pennies to this fund, making a huge impact in the co-op\u2019s northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating members round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar, with the extra pennies being used to help fund charities and groups in their communities. Each quarter, the funds are dispensed to local causes that applied for funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most recent donation recipients include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Antwerp Local Schools – Positive Behavior Program; $2,000 to purchase a bookworm vending machine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Caring & Sharing Food Pantry; $1,294 to purchase a vacuum sealer and shopping carts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 John Paulding Historical Society; $800 to purchase a digital projector for new programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Kiwanis Club of Paulding County; $2,000 to help fund a new playground at Lela McGuire Jeffery Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 LifeWise Academy – Paulding Exempted School; $2,098 to purchase Recap Cards for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 MAV Youth Mentoring; $1,500 to support the Buddies program and supper club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Paulding County Economic Development; $2,000 to purchase T-shirts for education\/career opportunities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Operation Round Up was started in 2010 as a way to give back to PPEC\u2019s communities. Groups in both Ohio and Indiana can apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
