WOODBURN \u2013 The annual rivalry game between Woodlan and Leo took place Saturday night in boys basketball action with the host Warriors capturing a thrilling 68-63 double-overtime victory over the Lions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warriors jumped in front at the end of one quarter 19-17 and expanded the margin in the second stanza, outscoring Leo 13-8 for a 32-25 halftime advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the third quarter, the Lions answered with a 14-point period while the Warriors bucketed ten as Leo trimmed the deficit to 42-39 entering the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leo continued the comeback in the fourth period with a 14-point stanza and Woodlan scored 11 as the two teams were tied at 53-53 at the end of regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After each team scored four points in the first overtime, Woodlan won the second overtime with an 11-point outburst with Leo scoring six to set the final at 68-63.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex Miller paced the Warriors with 19 points and Trey Yoder added 18 markers for Woodlan. Dejay Gerig also chipped in 16 for the hosts followed by Braden Smith (eight), Drew Fleek (five) and Dawson Lichty (two).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yoder topped Woodlan with ten boards to go along with three assists and Gerig grabbed nine boards. Smith also recorded five rebounds while dishing out a pair of assists with Fleek and Lichty picking up four boards apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miller topped the Warriors with four assists and Lincoln Sparks added three assists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
