ANTWERP \u2013 Carson Altimus threw for 173 yards and ran for 127 more to lead the Antwerp Archers to a 41-6 win over visiting Hicksville Friday night, September 9, 2022 in Green Meadows Conference football action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altimus completed 11 of 15 passes on the night, tossing four touchdown passes as the Archers moved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The win sets up a key matchup with Tinora, who enters the contest with a record of 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antwerp scored twice in the first quarter, getting a three-yard Reid Lichty touchdown plunge as well as a 61-yard touchdown pass from Altimus to Landon Brewer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Archers extended the margin in the second quarter with 21 points in expanding the lead to 35-0 at the intermission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altimus found Camden Fuller on a 34-yard touchdown passes before throwing a pair of scoring strikes to Parker Moore from 12 and 11 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altimus wrapped up the Antwerp scoring with a 69-yard scamper for a score in the third quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Archer ground game, Lichty totaled 77 yards over six carries to lead the way while Brewer topped Antwerp receivers with three catches for 101 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Archers ended the night with 416 yards of total offense compared to 135 for Hicksville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antwerp now makes the trip into Defiance County to battle Tinora. The winner of the contest will be tied for first at 2-0 in the league with the Ayersville-Edgerton winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hicksville, which falls to 0-4 and 0-1 in the GMC, hosts Wayne Trace (1-3, 0-1) in search of its first victory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
