EDGERTON, OH \u2013 What happens when two people with very different personalities host a talk show full of guests you just can’t imagine seeing anywhere else? The answer is revealed when the Village Players present the comedy, \u201cThe Most-viewed, Least-Watched Talk Show in History\u201d by Ken Preuss as its autumn show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The play takes place on the set of \u201cMonumental Accomplishments,\u201d the public-access TV show where guests share the amazing things they have done. Hosting, as usual, are the disillusioned cynic Avery Crossman and the sunny but not very bright Brighton Lively, who are alternately intrigued, inspired, and insulted by the guests they have to put up with week after week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is only one thing wrong with the guests that Avery and Brighton have on their show \u2014 they just aren’t very good. Which is one reason why the show\u2019s audience isn\u2019t of exactly stellar proportions. At least they can count on one regular \u2014 Brighton\u2019s grandfather, who can’t figure out how to change the channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this episode of \u201cMonumental Accomplishments,\u201d guest after guest prove to be entirely unexceptional in almost every way. From an adventurer whose achievements have to be seen to be disbelieved to an evil genius wannabe, every one of the guests have made accomplishments worthy of their talents \u2013 and of the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But does all this have a deeper significance? The answer may lie with a surprise guest who has his own discoveries to reveal, and who may or may not know that \u201cMonumental Accomplishments\u201d may be more monumental than anyone has realized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starring are Jamy Shafer and Nichole Robinson as Avery and Brighton, with supporting roles portrayed by Peter Greer, Mercedes Moncivias, Brandy Patterson, Calvin Watkins and Dawn Patterson, who also directs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Most-Viewed, Least-Watched Talk Show in History” will be presented on Saturday, September 17 at 2:30 and 7:00 p.m. at Edgerton Town Hall Gym, 324 North Michigan Avenue, Edgerton, Ohio, and on Sunday, September 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Woodburn United Methodist Church, 4300 Becker Road, Woodburn, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
