 On Saturday, July 23, the family of Scott St. John hosted a car show around Paulding\u2019s village square to honor the late Scott St. John. Proceeds from a 50\/50 raffle, free-will offerings, and a portion of food and drink sales totaled a $2,840 and were donated to the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry building fund, Scott\u2019s pet charity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 90 cars were on display for many to enjoy while listening to music provided by My 102.7. BBQ was served by Fat Pig Smokehouse from Hicksville and homemade ice cream was donated by Jaci Schlatter and served by the pantry board members and volunteers. In addition, Fuel Good Energy stayed open through the evening to quench the thirsts of a good-sized crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a fun night,\u201d said Shelia St. John, Scott\u2019s sister-in-law and event coordinator. \u201cScott always supported the food pantry and would have been proud to contribute to their building project.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Caring & Sharing Food Pantry adds the event\u2019s donation to its building fund which now exceeds 53 percent of its initial goal of $525,000. The new food pantry will be located at 318 N. Walnut Street in Paulding. The 3,900-square foot facility will include space for stock storage, client shopping, office and a client enrichment space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Caring & Sharing Food Pantry serves the people of Paulding County Ohio and is committed to making food available to our neighbors through the gifts of the community and the support of the West Ohio Food Bank. \u201cWe are focused on eliminating the food insecurity of the people in Paulding County,\u201d they say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional donations can be sent to the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry Building Fund in care of the Paulding County Area Foundation at 101 E. Perry Street, Paulding, Ohio 45879.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
