Reason into conclusions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My family had returned back overseas after nearly a year of furlough in small-town America – it was an \u201curban detox\u201d for us after living in a bustling intense metropolitan part of the world. It had been a bit hard getting started back up overseas as we were pretty homesick for Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after getting back, we started a long trip to visit workers we oversaw in different countries. We travelled in a van that also works as a camper. The first day we drove 12 hours and repeatedly told our junior high son to clean up after himself throughout the day \u2013 can we say, \u201cfamily road trip!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We finally decided to stop to sleep for the night. We woke up in the morning to discover our son\u2019s bag of personal items and another bag were missing. We initially concluded it was our son not keeping his things in order again. We did a thorough search of the van \u2013 twice. However, we eventually saw how a thief (or thieves) had entered the side and back of the van in the night.  They had stolen bags just inches away from where our sons were sleeping. It reminded us that we had too much “small town trust” still in us for living in that part of the world, and to not jump to conclusions even when events seem to line up in a certain direction. Did I mention that this son lost his sunglasses later on in the trip and on the last day of the journey he lost the same key twice?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
