Emerald Township \u2013 On March 20, 2022 at approximately 0322 hours, troopers were dispatched to a report of a wrong way driver traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes on US24 near County Road 133 in Paulding County. At approximately 0327 hours, the reported wrong way driver struck a semi-truck head on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everett Dickerson, of Defiance, Ohio, age 61, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of US24 and was operating a 2003 Chevrolet pick-up truck. Harkaranpreet Deol, of Caledon, Ontario, Canada, age 30, was traveling westbound on US24 and was operating a 2019 Peterbuilt semi-truck. Dickerson struck Deol head on and traveled off the north side of the roadway. Dickerson was transported to Defiance Regional Medical Center in Defiance, Ohio with life threatening injuries. Deol was not injured. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
