Ted Penner has filed as a candidate for the seat held by Republican Craig Riedel of Defiance, who has decided to seek a U.S. Congressional seat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI believe I have what it takes to lead the 82nd District by listening to the residents of this great region. I also have the civility it takes to negotiate and advocate for those I would represent,\u201d stated Penner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penner lives outside of Defiance and is an attorney and accountant (CPA). When it comes to being a public servant, he has been a township trustee for fourteen years, and a fiscal officer for six.  He currently serves as the Township Association\u2019s President. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of his major accomplishments include helping countless residents and businesses with their legal and tax needs. Penner\u2019s concentration was agriculture, business expansions, estate, and business succession planning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His goals if elected, include recognizing and facilitating 21st Century Ag production. \u201cWe have to be vigilant in making sure one of Ohio\u2019s top industries doesn\u2019t get left behind in the technology age. That\u2019s why I\u2019ll make sure we are bringing precision ag, and the necessary broadband infrastructure to the forefront,\u201d said Penner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penner was a co- business owner of Spatial Ag. Systems, LLC for 17 years, until he and his wife Brenda transitioned their share of the business to his stepson in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penner has served as a trustee for the Defiance County Improvement Corporation for over 10 years and has been highly engaged in economic development projects and workforce initiatives throughout his service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penner has the expertise it takes to represent the 82nd District with his many years of public service, being a business owner, along with his legal and accounting background. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have Northwest Ohio values, I\u2019m a traditional conservative. I\u2019m pro-life and a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment.  I truly believe we need as little government as possible, and we should only interject when it\u2019s the residents requesting the representative to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penner and his late wife Brenda have 4 children and 6 grandkids with one on the way.  His hobbies are golf, watching sports, and spending time with his grandkids in his spare time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
