150 years ago a group of ministers from Defiance and Hicksville together with several Presbyterian residents of Antwerp met in the Antwerp Methodist Church and organized the Antwerp Presbyterian Church. Dedication was Nov 7th, 1875.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first Presbyterian Church was located on West River Street. It was a brick structure and housed the congregation until 1901. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cornerstone for the new church that still exists today in downtown Antwerp was laid on July 18, 1901.  Construction was finished in 1902. The piano was a gift from W.F. Fleck and the pipe organ was a gift from Andrew Carnegie.  The organ was dedicated on June 25, 1911.  The marriage of Frank and Olive Armstrong was the first time the organ was played. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is hard to believe it has been 150 years of ministering to the community. We are ready to be here for the next 150 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
