{"id":33049,"date":"2021-06-23T07:15:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-23T11:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=33049"},"modified":"2021-06-22T10:26:12","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T14:26:12","slug":"breaking-entering-investigation-solved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/breaking-entering-investigation-solved\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking &#038; Entering Investigation Solved"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"318\" height=\"425\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Sheriff-landers.jpg?resize=318%2C425&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33050\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Sheriff-landers.jpg?w=318&amp;ssl=1 318w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Sheriff-landers.jpg?resize=260%2C347&amp;ssl=1 260w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Sheriff-landers.jpg?resize=160%2C214&amp;ssl=1 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Defiance, Ohio\u2014On June 16<sup>th<\/sup>, 2021 at 2:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 23092 SR 66 Defiance, Ohio, which is in Northeast Paulding County, for a breaking &amp; entering in-progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The landowner had arrived at their uninhabited property and discovered two adult men actively stealing their goods.&nbsp; One male fled immediately, the other got in his vehicle and tried to drive away.&nbsp; He became stuck in a ditch.&nbsp; The driver then fled the scene on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A perimeter was set up with deputies and State Troopers.\u00a0 An aircraft from the State Highway Patrol was also dispatched to the scene.\u00a0 Deputies, Troopers and a State Wildlife Officer searched the area for nearly 3 hours.\u00a0 All law enforcement cleared the scene around 5:30 pm after being unable to locate the suspects in the thick woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 6:15 pm, landowners near the intersection of Road 191 and Road 178 in Auglaize Township called the Sheriff\u2019s Office to report two men walking in a field and entering a wooded area.&nbsp; Law enforcement responded.&nbsp; After searching the woods, Bobby Joe Thompson, age 42, and William Wehby, Jr., age 53, from Scott, Ohio, were located and taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis was a great example of multiple agencies working together and the community being alert and providing us information,\u201d said Sheriff Jason K.
