Have you ever been to a spelling bee? Even more, have you ever been in a spelling bee? I have. It was the CHEPC (Christian Home Educators of Paulding County) spelling bee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, in most spelling bees I am pretty nervous. After we drew chair numbers (That\u2019s what we would do to figure out what order we were to sit in.), we went to our seats on the \u201cstage.\u201d It was in a barn because they wouldn\u2019t let us do it in the normal place due to COVID, so there wasn\u2019t a real stage. I was on the last seat. When my turn came, I went up to the microphone and waited for my word. I was nervous not because I was afraid I couldn\u2019t spell it, but because everyone was looking at me. That\u2019s a usual reason to be nervous. It probably was like that for everyone. When I got my word, I spelled it, got it right, and went back to my seat. It was good that I did get the right word. At first it was hard to hear what word Darci said, but then she got a microphone and we could hear her better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the spelling bee was in the barn, there was a combine taking up almost half the barn, and there were feed bags on the left side. There were shelves with tools on them, and there were big overhead doors so tractors could get in and out. The combine was my favorite part though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the spelling bee, Micah Jones won, and I was runner-up. I was also nervous then, because then everyone was looking at us, and they were even taking pictures! Finally everyone else came up, and it wasn\u2019t so bad. Maybe next year you\u2019ll be there to participate in the CHEPC spelling bee with us!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
