{"id":31514,"date":"2021-01-12T16:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-12T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=31514"},"modified":"2021-01-05T19:04:40","modified_gmt":"2021-01-06T00:04:40","slug":"paulding-county-medical-reserve-corps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/paulding-county-medical-reserve-corps\/","title":{"rendered":"Paulding County Medical Reserve Corps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities.&nbsp; MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals, as well as other community members without healthcare backgrounds.&nbsp; MRC units engage these volunteers as well as local and state level partners to strengthen public health, improve emergency response capabilities, and build community resiliency.&nbsp; MRC units prepare for and respond to natural disasters, such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, and floods, as well as other emergencies affecting public health, such as disease outbreaks. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What would I do as a Volunteer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paulding County MRC volunteers have helped with flu clinics, tornado and flood response.&nbsp; Volunteers have also helped with non-emergency activities.&nbsp; Both medical and non-medical volunteers are essential with every mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How do I join Paulding County MRC?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Get Registered.&nbsp; The first step is to sign up at OhioResponds (https:\/\/ohioresponds.odh.ohio.gov).&nbsp; This is Ohio\u2019s volunteer registration system and provides a way to send notices to volunteers and gives liability protection for the agency and volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Get Trained.&nbsp; Next, for the safety and efficiency, volunteers must view basic training videos before their application is accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Create an account on MRC TRAIN (www.train.org\/MRC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Link Paulding County MRC to your MRC TRAIN account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Log on to MRC TRAIN, click on your name in the top right, then select Your Profile<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Manage Groups screen, enter 467 into the Join by Group Code field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the blue Join Button<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Save on the top right to complete the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Complete the following mandatory training:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRC Volunteer Deployment Readiness: Pre-Deployment Course (20 minutes) MRC Train#1086867<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRC Volunteer Deployment Readiness: Deployment and Post-Deployment Course (20 minutes) MRC Train#1086868<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.
