As of 9:00 pm on Monday, March 16 the current administration has not confirmed with the County Board of Elections that the Primary election will be held tomorrow, March 17, or June 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was announced today by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Secretary of State Frank LaRose that the elections would be moved to June 2 due to the Coronovirus outbreak, “However, new information has led ODH to recommend Ohioans who are 65 and older to self-quarantine in their homes, making it challenging for these individuals to vote on March 17.” stated LaRose, “LaRose recommends suspension of in-person voting on March 17, moving election day to June 2”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many counties have already informed their poll workers that there will be no election even before the judge denied the Secretary of State’s request. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though denied by Franklin County Judge Richard Frye, the Secretary of State’s website continues to use June 2 as the new date. https:\/\/www.sos.state.oh.us\/media-center\/press-releases\/2020\/2020-03-16\/ This may imply there is an appeal at hand or something else is planned. Either way, lack of communication does not make this for a good primary in Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
