The goal was to place over 500 wreaths on grave sites throughout Paulding County this year to honor those who have served, but thanks to the generosity of residents over 700 wreaths will be placed at the graves of fallen veterans during a special ceremony to be held on December 14th at noon at St. Paul Cemetery off County Road 87. The public is invited and encourage to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are not familiar with Wreaths Across America, every December the organization holds wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1600 additional locations across the world. Paulding County was lucky enough to have several local volunteers take the initiative to make this effort a priority for Paulding County in 2018 and 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulding County resident Linda McCain leads the organization, \u201cIt takes my breath away seeing how Paulding County residents religiously step up to honor our veterans. We\u2019re excited to announce this year\u2019s goal of 500 wreaths was met. We sold over 700 wreaths that will be placed at 9 cemeteries in Paulding County. Words can\u2019t express enough how grateful we are so many people have stepped up to honor the men and women who so bravely served our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s too late to order a wreath for this year, but if you are wanting to order a wreath for 2020, you can. This is a great opportunity to thank a veteran, whether it\u2019s a family member or someone who no longer has family in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
