PPEC\u2019s Operation Round Up program distributed $12,560 in 12 grants to area organizations this month.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Small coins make a big difference when Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative members join together to fund change in their communities. In fact, $12,560 was recently donated to 12 area Ohio charities and community projects through the co-op\u2019s Operation Round Up program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating members \u201cround up\u201d their monthly electric bills to the next dollar, with the extra pennies being used to help fund community charities and groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the 75 percent of our members who round up their electric bill and donate those pennies to this fund, PPEC has provided more than $441,942 to over 159 organizations and projects in Indiana and Ohio since 2010. The most recent recipients include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putnam County Home Care Hospice; $1,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van Wert County Emergency Management (CERT); $800<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Paulding Historical Society; $800<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Rose of Lima Catholic School; $800<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulding High School; $1,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crestview Band Parents; $500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continental Volunteer Fire Department; $2,500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paulding County Amateur Radio Club; $500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kalida Elementary School; $800<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Christian Church of God; $1,360<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends of Payne Library; $1,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Red Cross; $1,500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A board of trustees, composed of co-op members and separate from the PPEC board, oversees the application process.
