Two student leaders already busy on The Ohio State University at Lima campus as sesquicentennial scholars were named the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen at a crowning ceremony in Columbus. Dalton Faulder of Jackson Center and Victoria Bradford of Paulding will serve as Lima\u2019s royalty for the 2019 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bradford is a senior psychology major who has been active across campus in the arts, undergraduate research and community service. Her experience has cemented her belief in the \u201cHow firm thy friendship\u201d mantra from Ohio State\u2019s alma mater. Bradford will treasure the strong relationships she has built with other members of the 2019 Homecoming Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat the Homecoming experience has given me is a confirmation of the firm friendship of Ohio State Lima. My fellow students had respect, kindness, integrity, humility. Ohio State Lima fosters these characteristics,\u201d Bradford said. \u201cNone of them were simply walking through the motions of this event. They took it to heart, and they hold Ohio State Lima in their hearts in a very special way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faulder is a senior middle childhood education major involved in a variety of clubs including the Education Club, the Improv Club, the Meme Club and Campus Activities Board. He is grateful to be chosen to represent his \u201ctruly amazing\u201d home campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf not for Ohio State Lima, I would not be the person I have grown into during my four years here,\u201d Faulder said. \u201cHaving the opportunity to interact with the courts from regional campuses showed me just how appreciative all regional campus Buckeyes are of having the unique opportunities provided to them at their specific campus. We all bonded over our mutually similar experiences, and it was magical.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immediately following the crowning ceremony, the courts from all of Ohio State\u2019s campuses participated in the annual Homecoming Parade down High Street and Pep Rally in the Ohio Union. On Saturday, they attended the pre-game Skull Session in St. Johns Arena and an on-field ceremony prior to the Homecoming football game against Michigan State. During the game, the court was in the student section cheering on the team. Prior to the crowning ceremony, the Lima court hosted a variety of Homecoming Week activities for the students, staff and faculty on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2019 Ohio State Lima Homecoming Court was selected from a pool of applicants based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, scholastic performance and achievement through their contributions and involvement at Ohio State. A selection committee interviewed each applicant and chose three male and three female students to comprise the Lima Homecoming Court. The application and interview scores were combined with the student body vote to determine Lima\u2019s king and queen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
