In the morning hours of August 2, 2019, Fort volunteers discovered that the Old Fort had been vandalized with spray paint. An unknown vandal sprayed \u201cno pride in native genocide\u201d on the south-facing exterior fa\u00e7ade on both sides of the gate. The Parks Department has been notified and a formal police report was made earlier this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presently, the Old Fort plans to remove the vandalism with soda blasting, which will cause minimal damage to the Fort itself while still removing the spray paint. This will likely be conducted tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, August 3). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
