State Wildlife Officer Austin Dickinson has been assigned to Defiance County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officer Dickinson is a 2007 graduate of Genoa High School in Ottawa County. In 2011, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dickinson served as the state wildlife officer assigned to Seneca County after his graduation from the Ohio Wildlife Officer Academy in 2014 and in Williams County since 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a state wildlife officer, Dickinson will have statewide jurisdiction to enforce wildlife regulations, investigate allegations of waterway pollution, protect state property, and make arrests. He will also conduct educational programs, perform fish and wildlife management duties, and advise landowners on dealing with wildlife conflicts. Wildlife officers serve an important role as a point of contact with law enforcement and other agencies on topics of mutual interest, providing assistance and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
