This years 24-hour PASS Basketball Marathon was another successful year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year the PASS (Paulding Area Support Society) Basketball 24 hour Marathon takes place in the Wayne Trace Payne Elementary gymnasium starting on Friday night and going through Saturday evening of Easter week. This year it was on April 19 and 20th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was significantly more teams than last year (88 vs 106) and that means more money was raised for those who can\u2019t play. The proceeds benefit those who are crippled and need assistance. Last year there was approximately $6500 vs last year\u2019s amount of $5000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Marathon was born after former Payne resident Jim Hooker\u2019s time at Bowling Green State University when he played in a similar 24-hour basketball charity fundraiser. Now 41 years later, the dream is still alive to help those in need in Paulding County. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The traveling plaque was awarded to R.E.O. Legacy which is put in by the Overmyer family from Payne who has played in all 41 years of the Basketball Marathon.<\/strong>

MINI-YOUTH \u2013 1st place (52 points) Paulding Pancake House; 2nd place (50 points) Dealey Chemical; Sportsmanship Award, Corner Market<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YOUTH \u2013 1st place (60 points) First Christian Church; 2nd place (57 points) State Champs; Sportsmanship, Jr. Leaders 4-H Club<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WOMEN \u2013 1st place (14 points) St. John\u2019s Tire Service; 2nd place (9 points) Happy Hooker Enterprises<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CO-ED \u2013 1st place (72 points) Hormann\u2019s; 2nd place (68 points) Walmart Trans Gas City; Sportsmanship Award, Paulding County Hospital <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MENS \u2013 1st place (150 points) Grandma & Grandpa Linder Family; 2nd place (148 points) Grandma & Grandpa Linder Family; Sportsmanship Award, Treece Electric <\/p>\n\n\n\n
