{"id":2534,"date":"2013-06-03T08:48:39","date_gmt":"2013-06-03T12:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=2534"},"modified":"2013-06-03T12:41:40","modified_gmt":"2013-06-03T16:41:40","slug":"mary-francis-smith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/mary-francis-smith\/","title":{"rendered":"Mary Francis Smith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PAULDING: <strong>Mary Francis Smith, age 96<\/strong> died Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Gardens of Paulding, Paulding, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>She was born in Cecil, Ohio on May 28, 1917 the daughter of Conrad and Emma Fay (Biggs) Winterhaulter. In 1934 she married John P. Smith, who preceded her in death on July 8, 2001. She was previously employed as an LPN for Paulding County Hospital and was a member of Cecil First Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by a son, Jerry L. (Robin) Smith, Perrysburg, OH; daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith, Hicksville; a brother, Bill (Ramona) Winterhaulter, Defiance; Grandchildren: Greg, John, Sally, Ryan and Matthew; and seven great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, John \u201cJack\u201d Smith; a brother, Mike Winterhaulter; four sisters, Betty, Donna, and Ruth \u201cBud\u201d Winterhaulter, and Helen Stratten.<\/p>\n<p>Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything in the world to her. She went without many things in life so that her family would not have to endure all the hardships she experienced throughout her life. Mary\u2019s personality was one of being strong, even tough when necessary, but most of all, giving of herself and whatever she had in life to her family.<\/p>\n<p>Mary loved babies and children. She always enjoyed having her grandkids visit her. Mary\u2019s passing leaves an empty hole in our hearts and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will follow at 1PM in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be 2-4PM and 6-8PM Tuesday, June 4 at Den Herder Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Her favorite charity was St. Jude Children\u2019s Hospital. She was supportive of the services they provide to all children.
