Goedde grew up in Leipsic and later moved to Toledo where we met his wife. He spent 30 years in Toledo and received a degree in nursing from the University of Toledo. Working in the healthcare field he has worked for Mercy Health, and the University of Toledo Medical Center. He has a great interest in working for independent hospitals and his dream has been to manage a hospital in a community close knit like Paulding. “You know the people you care for in a small-town hospital, and that’s what I love,” says Goedde.

The hospital had 5,300 emergency room visits, and 20,000 clinic visits in 2018. Goedde said, “Paulding County Hospital is a lot more than a band aid station.” 99% of patients that come to PCH are treated there and can find the same level of care as a bigger hospital. Many people receive cancer treatment and other treatments at the hospital. In fact, the hospital is utilizing ‘smart drugs’ that are specialized to the person and their treatment needs. Bloodwork taken at PCH can be sent away to be tested. The results are sent back to PCH and the hospital can administer the specialized ‘smart drug’ to the patient. A change to the PCH services is the closing of home healthcare. “We’re being outdone by other companies,” says Goedde. “We’ll step back and let them do what they do well.” The money saved by cutting home healthcare will keep the hospital alive longer.

Goedde is focused on working with all health care around us and is dedicated to making Paulding County Hospital a place for excellent treatment and comforting care. Kiwanis thanks his for his willingness to serve the Paulding county community. Kiwanis members will meet next Thursday over lunch.

Paulding, OH: Kiwanis member Naomi Nicely introduced Paulding County Hospital’s new CEO Ron Goedde.
