Paulding, OH: This week Kiwanis member Stan Searing introduced fellow Kiwanian Shaun Matako to talk about Kiwanis. As Kiwanis members the club\u2019s mission is to help children in our community as well as around the world; but what else does Kiwanis do? Matako, who has been a member of Kiwanis clubs in Wyoming, Colorado, and Idaho before landing here in Paulding enlightened the club on some other extraordinary things Kiwanis does. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1915 with 8,400 clubs spread across 96 countries, Kiwanis\u2019 motto is Serving the Children of the World. A key objective of Kiwanis is to provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities. Some of the world-wide assistance provided by Kiwanis includes international disaster relief, 911 victims children\u2019s fund, and the elimination of neo-natal tetanus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matako then shared the expectations of being a Kiwanian which include attending club meetings regularly, participation in fundraiser\/service projects, demonstrating pride of membership, and encouraging others to join. The Paulding Kiwanis club has helped our children in the community experience a new sport for the first time or educated new parents by providing them and baby with books and information on early literacy, while also donating to many other causes that directly affect the well-being of our children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club thanks Shaun for sharing his plethora of information and passion for Kiwanis. Paulding Kiwanis is lucky to have a leader like him with the drive and passion he has for the club. Kiwanis members will meet next Thursday over lunch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
