WOODBURN – After falling behind by six entering the fourth quarter, Woodlan put forth a valiant effort but came up short to fall 63-61 to Prairie Heights in boys basketball action last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warriors then played their second game of the week on Friday where Woodlan dropped a 56-39 decision at Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against the Panthers, the Warriors fell behind 19-10 at the end of one period but trimmed the deficit to 28-27 at the midway point. Prairie Heights then opened the lead back to 48-42 at the end of three quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mitch Mendenhall paced the way for the Warriors with 18 points while Joe Reidy chipped in 16 for Woodlan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aiden Bayman, Trevor Wiedenhoeft and Ben Reidy all chipped in nine markers each for the Warriors, who are now 3-12 on the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elijah Malone and Mike Perkins led the way for the Panthers with 20 and 17 points, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandon Christlieb chipped in 11 followed by Ethan Hoover and Layne Bachelor with five each. Garrett Culler posted three markers while Denick picked up a basket for Prairie Heights, which improves to 9-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Monroeville, the host Patriots broke open a close game by outscoring Woodlan 19-2 in the third quarter to pull away for a 56-39 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two teams were tied at 13-13 at the end of one quarter before the Warriors grabbed a slim 24-23 halftime advantage. However, quarter number three was all Heritage as the Patriots took a 42-26 lead into the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Reidy had 17 points to top the Warriors with Mendenhall and Wiedenhoeft adding five each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bayman (four), Ben Reidy (three), Jack Stuckey (three) and Konner Norman (two) also scored for the Warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parker Tracey scored a dozen points to lead the way for the Patriots while Cameron Mitchell and Alec Burton both posted 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaydon Harris and Walter Knapke added nine and eight markers, respectively. Jaylen Holliness-Bell (four) and Nik Smith (one) picked up the remaining points for the Patriots, who improve to 11-2.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
