Ruge has served in the capacity for over five years, turning the hospital around fiscally, and setting new standards for healthcare.

On Wednesday, January 9 the employees gathered to meet the new CEO in the administration board meeting area. Ron Goedde is originally from the Leipsic, Ohio area, where his family farms. After graduating high school, Goedde went to the University of Toledo and studied to become a nurse. As he worked his way up, he found the business aspect of the healthcare to be more of where his interests lie. He worked at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, and then over the last 10 years he was in University of Toledo Medical Center.

“Coming to Paulding County brings me back to my roots!” stated Goedde. Goedde came from a farming community in Putnam County. He loves to farm and that is still one of his hobbies.

Paulding County Hospital is a critical access hospital and that is what makes it so great. The ER is very responsive to the immediate needs of the patient. “We are not making changes here,” Goedde assured the staff, “It’s operating very well and we will continue on this path of success making this hospital a great place!” He observed the hospital earlier in the day and noticed how busy it was, realizing the community puts their trust in this facility.

Goedde and Ruge had worked together at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.

Goedde mentioned he would love to make Paulding his place of retirement. He also stated that he is looking forward to working with everyone in the hospital in this new line of work.

Paulding County Hospital welcomed it’s new CEO, Ron Goedde, and bid farewell to Randy Ruge.
