Both the junior high and high school wrestling squads for Antwerp competed over the weekend with great results coming from both teams. At Ayersville, the junior high squad placed 2 of their 5 wrestlers with 1 of them earning 1st place for the day. Narrowly missing 1st place honors was 8th grader Eli Reinhart in the 104-pound weight class. Reinhart lost an exciting 1-point match in the finals to finish 2nd on the day with a record of 3 wins, 1 loss, and 3 pins. Earning another 1st place finish this season was 8th grader Aiden Provines at 128 pounds. Provines finished his day with all 4 of his wins by pin to only 1 loss.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the junior high competed at Ayersville, the archer high school squad competed just across the state line in the Woodlan Invitational, crowning 3 champions along the way.  Finishing 1st at 126 pounds was junior Randall Mills.  Mills was 3-0 on the day with 1 pin and 1 technical fall.  Also earning 1st place finishes were senior Aidan McAlexander at 120 pounds and senior Tanner Wentland at 145 pounds.  Both McAlexander and Wentland were 3-0 for the tournament, pinning all their opponents as well.  Congratulations to all the archer wrestlers for their accomplishments over the weekend.  Good luck next week as the junior competes in the Wauseon Invitational while the high school wrestlers travel to Clyde.  We would also like to remind everyone that the Antwerp wrestling club is now in full swing and is available to any student in kindergarten through 6th grade.  The club holds practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5 pm.  Hope to see you there.  GO ARCHERS!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
