Paulding, OH: Kiwanis member Kevin Stahl introduced Tera and Jeremy Thompson who spoke about Special Olympics Paulding. Tera, an employee of PC Workshop coordinates Special Olympics for children and adults with special needs. Really trying to rebrand themselves Special Olympics Paulding has tried to make their Paulding Pride well known featuring their lion mascot. There are currently 40 athletes signed up for Paulding Pride teams which is double last year\u2019s participation. Tera spoke highly of area schools for allowing her to make her resources well known for all athletes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year their basketball team placed 3rd in the state of Ohio. They also have an athlete who has placed 1st in many cycling competitions in the state. New this year is Paulding Pride track and field!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSpecial Olympics is a place for these kids to belong, and to feel part of a team,\u201d says Jeremy. Special Olympics Paulding and the PC Workshop really try and make the atmosphere of each game just like any other high school basketball game. Packed bleachers, cheering fans, and an exciting atmosphere to play in. Defiance College has been a great help to the Special Olympics Paulding team by offering referees for home games, and free basketball clinics for all players. New basketball schedules are to be out soon, so go and support our own Paulding Pride this season! Kiwanis appreciated Tera and Jeremy, and all others involved in Special Olympics Paulding for their dedication to the children and adults with special needs in our community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
