\"\"Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) met with local small business leaders today at roundtables held in Perrysburg and Archbold. The two roundtables were held with members of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) \u2013 the nation\u2019s largest small business association. Discussions at the roundtable centered on the recent enactment of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, workforce education, and the regulatory environment. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSmall businesses are the engines of our economy, creating two out of every three new jobs,\u201d said Latta. \u201cWith unemployment claims at a record low, wages on the rise, and GDP growing at over four percent, we can thank our small businesses for much of the positive news. It was great to hear how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is having a positive effect on the businesses in Ohio\u2019s 5th Congressional District and is making it easier for them to grow and expand.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the same time, I continue to hear about workforce issues and the need to find workers with the skills needed for the modern economy. That\u2019s why I was glad to share the news that President Trump just signed into law legislation that would help prepare our workforce for the 21st century. The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act \u2013 legislation I supported \u2013 will allow states and local stakeholders develop the skill training and education needed for their jobs in their areas.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
