DEFIANCE – The Paulding ACME baseball team wrapped up its summer season last week as the Panthers dropped games to Defiance and Fairview in the district tournament.<\/p>\n
Defiance scored once in the first and twice in the third before hanging on late for a 3-2 win over the maroon and white.<\/p>\n
The following day, Fairview posted an identical 3-2 victory over Paulding to close the Panthers\u2019 season.<\/p>\n
In the contest against the Bulldogs, Jaret Miller had a single and triple while Hunter Kauser also added a triple to combine for the three Paulding hits.<\/p>\n
Miller and Evan Edwards each drove in runs for the Panthers with Kauser and Miller scoring the Paulding markers.<\/p>\n
Kolson Egnor took the loss for the maroon and white, tossing all six innings while allowing three unearned runs, three walks and five hits to go along with three strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Against the Apaches, the Panthers struck first with a single run in the second before Fairview tied the game by plating one in the third.<\/p>\n
After Paulding went back in front 2-1 in the top of the fifth, the black and gold closed out the scoring with two runs in the home half of the fifth to seal the 3-2 victory.<\/p>\n
Jaret Miller paced the Paulding offense with a single and a double while also driving in one run. Hunter Kauser, Carson Shull, Kolson Egnor and Cory Adams all had singles for the Panthers.<\/p>\n
