Oldenettel, age 21, of South Jacksonville, Illinois, was southbound on Eastown Road. While overtaking traffic, Mr. Oldenettel lost control of his motorcycle, striking a curb, and a mail box. Mr. Oldenettel continued across a yard where the motorcycle struck a fire hydrant. Mr. Oldenettel was thrown from the motorcycle and came to final rest a short distance later.<br \/>\nMr. Oldenettel succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Allen County Assistant Coroner Jamie Sizemore.<\/p>\n<p>The crash resulted in a closure of Eastown Road, between Neely Road, and Hartzler Road. The roadway has since been reopened.<\/p>\n<p>The Lima Post was assisted by American Township Fire and EMS, Army\u2019s Towing and Recovery, and local REACT members.<\/p>\n<p>Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
