Volunteers from the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer will visit the campuses of Dupont, Lutheran and St. Joseph hospitals May 2 to place between 150 and 300 pink ribbons per location in support of this year\u2019s \u201cTurn the Town Pink\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n
Turn the Town Pink is an annual effort to raise awareness and funds to help combat breast cancer through research. Lutheran Health Network has participated as the primary Turn the Town Pink campaign sponsor every year since 2008, a commitment it made after nearly a decade of sponsoring the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic.<\/p>\n
A ceremony to recognize the 2018 campaign will happen May 4 on the plaza at Indiana Michigan Power Center in downtown Fort Wayne. Breast cancer survivors, representatives from Lutheran Health Network including Lutheran Hospital CEO Paula Autry, foundation volunteers, and other special guests will participate. The public is invited to attend the brief event that begins at noon.<\/p>\n
The placing of pink ribbons adorned with the names of honorees throughout the city is just one of multiple activities leading up to the 25th annual Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic on June 4.<\/p>\n
The fifth edition of the Three Rivers Running Company\u2019s Pink Ribbon Run will again take place on the Lutheran Hospital campus May 12. The 2018 Pink Ribbon Run is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. All proceeds from the four-mile run and two-mile walk will be given to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
