The possible dangers of some foods on supermarket shelves will be discussed at Lifetree Caf\u00e9 on Wednesday, March 21 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
The program, titled \u201cDangerous Food: Is Your Supermarket Killing You?\u201d features a filmed interview with Joel Salatin, author of Everything I Want to Do Is Illegal: War Stories From the Local Food Front and Holy Cows and Hog Heaven: The Food Buyer\u2019s Guide to Farm Friendly Food.<\/p>\n
In the interview Salatin explains America\u2019s lack of concern regarding the source of food is causing issues with health and well-being.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe level of personal involvement in food is at an-all time low,\u201d Salatin says. \u201cAround 25 percent of America\u2019s food is consumed in automobiles. Around 70 percent of Americans have no clue what they are going to have for dinner at 4 p.m. We are really disconnected.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the session Lifetree participants will have an opportunity to discuss the role the government should play in deciding food choices and discover strategies for healthier eating.<\/p>\n
