VAN WERT – A bad start proved to be too much to overcome for the Antwerp boys basketball team on Wednesday night as the Archers dropped a 59-53 decision to Parkway in Division IV sectional action at Van Wert High School.<\/p>\n

The Panthers jumped out to an 18-6 lead at the end of 8 minutes of action and never trailed the rest of the way in advancing to the next round.<\/p>\n

Antwerp did make things interesting, closing to within 3 points late in the contest, but Parkway held on for the victory.<\/p>\n

Parkway led 32-23 at the end of the first half and the Panthers took a 40-32 lead into the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n

Cole Seslar had an outstanding night for Antwerp, scoring a game high 29 points to lead all scorers.<\/p>\n

Luke Brewer added 11 markers for the blue and white and Ty Rebber chipped in 10. Blake Schuette added 3 points for Antwerp as well.<\/p>\n

The Panthers were led by Corey Walls, who scored 20 points, while Caleb Kinney added 10 markers.<\/p>\n

Also finding the scoring column for the Mercer County squad were Jack Wehe (9), Mason Baxter (7), Dylan Hughes (7), Andrew Baker (4) and Preston Stober (2).<\/p>\n

Antwerp\u2019s 2017-18 season finished at a 13-10 record.<\/p>\n
