In October 2017, U.S. EPA approved revised labels for the three dicamba products that are labeled for use on soybeans: Engenia (BASF), XtendiMax (Monsanto) and FeXapan (DuPont).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike any other product, we want to ensure licensed applicators are properly following label directions as they get ready for this growing season,\u201d said Matt Beal, chief of the ODA Plant Health Division. \u201cThis not only helps assure the safe use of pesticides, it also helps prevent misuse and mishandling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturers of these dicamba products also agreed to additional requirements for their products. Some of the revisions include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Products are now classified as \u201crestricted-use,\u201d meaning only licensed applicators will be able to purchase them<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Applicators must complete dicamba-specific training<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Increased recordkeeping requirements<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Wind speed restrictions<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Temperature inversion restrictions<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Sensitive\/susceptible crop consultation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Spray system equipment clean-out<\/p>\n<p>More details on these revisions can be found in the attached fact sheet.
