Meyer<\/strong>, 84, of Antwerp, passed away at home on Thursday, January 11, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Virgil was born in\u00a0 \u00a0Antwerp on December 25, 1933, a son of the late Mary (Zuber) and Edward\u00a0 Meyer.<\/p>\n<p>Virgil worked at Irving Ready Mix for 47 years, farmed and drove many Amish families,\u00a0 but his best years were spent working beside his wife, Dorothy at Pin-A-Rama lanes. He was a member of the Antwerp American Legion Auxiliary &amp; Antwerp Conservation Club.<\/p>\n<p>On December 29, 2017 his wife, Dorothy passed away. They were married April 4, 1959.<\/p>\n<p>He will be sadly missed by his children, Martha Chase of Spencerville, IN, Edward &amp; Patrick (Kim) Meyer both of Antwerp; siblings, Margaret Hissong &amp; Mary Lou Slusher, both of Antwerp, Rama Sarazin of Sterling Heights, MI, Norman &amp; Robert (Janice)Meyer, both of Hicksville; grandchildren, Megan, Andrea &amp; Ben Chase, Gregg (Nicole) Lamott &amp; David Perez; great grandchildren, Hannah Fields &amp; Isabella Lamott.<\/p>\n<p>His funeral service is 11 AM on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp, with viewing one hour prior.<\/p>\n<p>Viewing is also 4- 8 PM on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.<\/p>\n<p>He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Memorials are to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.<\/p>\n<p>Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.dooleyfuneralhome.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Virgil J.
